We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading international company in the auto electronics industry, currently establishing a new manufacturing plant in Sousse -Tunisia. This strategic role offers the opportunity to lead and shape operations within a growing global organization.
Job Overview
The Factory General Manager will be fully responsible for the overall operation and management of the manufacturing plant, ensuring alignment with the company’s global strategy while adapting to local market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant
Operations Management:
Develop and execute annual operational plans, production targets, quality standards, and cost control strategies aligned with global and local objectives. - Quality
& Safety Management:
Implement and maintain robust quality management systems (QMS) in line with industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949) and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. - Compliance
& Stakeholder Management:
Ensure full compliance with Tunisian labor, tax, environmental, and industry-specific regulations. Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders and authorities. - Team
Leadership & Development:
Lead cross-functional teams (production, quality, HR, supply chain, finance, administration), implement performance management systems, and drive employee engagement and development. - Supply
Chain & Cost Control:
Oversee procurement, inventory, and logistics operations. Optimize supply chain efficiency while ensuring cost control and continuity of supply. - Communication
& Reporting:
Maintain regular communication with headquarters, report on operational and financial performance, and ensure the implementation of corporate strategies and directives.
Profile Requirements :
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. - Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing plant management
- At least 10 years in a senior leadership role (Plant Manager / Operations Manager) within the automotive or auto electronics industry
- Proven experience managing overseas operations (Africa / Middle East / North Africa preferred)
- Strong understanding of the Tunisian market is a plus
- Skills:
- Expertise in auto electronics manufacturing processes
- Strong knowledge of quality systems (IATF 16949), Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma
- Solid financial and operational management skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
