National UNV Assignment - Tunisia

Context

UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is the UN agency dedicated to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality, and youth empowerment. Working in over 150 countries, UNFPA strives to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person can achieve their full potential. In Tunisia, UNFPA is embracing the UN 2.0 agenda by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation into its operations to improve efficiency and enhance programme impact. This assignment supports the Country Office’s efforts to strengthen data-driven management of sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, youth engagement, and population-related initiatives through modern digital tools and automated workflows. Supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Tunisia and the UNV programme, the initiative promotes youth inclusion, with particular encouragement for applications from qualified young persons with disabilities.

Description of duties

  • Support the development and maintenance of automated tools using Google Workspace applications, including Sheets and Forms, to improve data tracking and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in enhancing internal coordination systems, document management tools, and information-sharing processes.
  • Test and support the responsible use of approved AI tools, including document summarization, information extraction, and meeting note organization.
  • Document practical AI use cases and promote compliance with data privacy and security standards.
  • Update and maintain dashboards and data visualization tools related to sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, youth programmes, and population dynamics.
  • Compile, organize, and present data in accessible formats for reporting and decision-making.
  • Support the review and improvement of digital tools used for youth engagement and feedback collection.
  • Develop simple guidance materials and support digital learning sessions for staff.
  • Promote good practices in digital transformation, knowledge sharing, and information management.

Profile requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data or Business Analytics, Digital Communications, or a related field.
  • Up to one year of relevant professional experience in digital transformation, data management, analytics, or related areas.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace tools; knowledge of Google Apps Script or macros is an asset.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and effective, responsible prompt writing.
  • Experience creating dashboards and data visualizations using Looker Studio, Excel, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic, French, and English is required.
