Medical Advisor

MSH Tunisia | Tunis, Tunisia |  Reports to: Medical Director

MSH Tunisia is looking for an experienced Medical Advisor to join our Medical team in Tunis. In this role, you will provide expert medical guidance on requests from all departments and clients, ensuring the highest standards of clinical appropriateness and customer service.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY

Provide medical advice on requests received from all departments and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review pre-authorization and referral requests for medical appropriateness, using established clinical protocols to determine medical necessity.
• Handle medical queries received from members and client companies.
• Provide medical opinion to other departments.
• Regularly check and attend to medical requests received via Intraqual.
• Advise the PRECERT team on complex pre-authorization cases falling outside standard protocols and guidelines.
• Organize medical training sessions for operations administrators.
• Dispatch and sign off on claims exceeding 10,000.00.
• Foster an ongoing relationship with the worldwide medical team, seeking input and advice as appropriate.
• Provide medical advice on complex and high-stakes cases.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree and Doctor of Medicine.
• Registered with the relevant Medical Council / Medical Board, with valid registration maintained throughout employment.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of office automation tools and internet.
• Fluency in English, French and Arabic.

• Effective listening, diplomacy, and ability to reassure insured members.
• Client-service oriented mindset.
• Ability to supervise and direct a team.
• Strong analytical skills with sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently.
